First attempt at mixed media

Hi Everyone! This is my first real attempt at mixed media. I posted these first two pics sometime ago for Sunday Sketches.

I have never felt like this was complete the way it is here.

So today....
I bought some fabric leaves in different sizes and colors and a crystal butterfly at the local craft store and went crazy with my glue gun. I definitely like this piece better. I like the 3 dimensional feel to it too as the leaves and butterfly are raised off of the drawing itself.
I was never completely satisfied with this piece so this was a fun experiment. I really like how it turned out.
Thanks for all the inspiration. Every week I see what all of you mixed media artists produce and I am in awe.
Have a great week!

Hi,
Wow, this completes it! What an amazing difference when you play around with things. She belongs in a story Julia. And, I love the gold butterfly. Great!
hope you are having a great week,

Thanks Heather! I like how she turned out too! A story would be fun...have to think about that.

how wonderfully fun. I love what you did with this and that you were brave to try it. I am working on a piece now and I do something and then think oh no, then it grows on me and I change it and so it goes....I love watching you explore.
