Sunday Sketches

Happy Sunday Sketches everyone!

I am posting this early because tomorrow I have the rare pleasure of heading off to the A i r p o r t to wait in tremendously long lines behind assuredly cranky people for lengthy amounts of time with two sure-to-be cranky toddlers in tow, only to be told that our flight to Ireland, the one that we have had reserved for over 8 months, (yeah, THAT ONE) is cancelled and "Could we please step over to the refund desk so they can 'see what they can do'?"

This is the trip I have dreamed about F O R E V E R and I am so SAD that it is most likely not going to happen right now.

I am madly scrambling to see what sort of cancellation policies all of our many accomodations have, and so far have been assured that we will receive full refunds on all of our bookings -

The I R I S H rock!!!

Hi, Julia, I am so, so, so sorry to hear this! I would be crushed. In fact, I'm crushed for you. My one hope is that you will be able to reschedule it for the not-too-distant future.

Thanks so much for your comment over at my place this afternoon. I'm glad you stopped by!

Thanks Gigi! Unfortunately, if we can't go in the next couple of days, we will have to postpone until this fall as our business' busy season starts right about now...:-(

strangely, I find it to be a happy drawing even with the words stating the opposite perhaps it's the colors?

ps, saw your new drawing - phoenix -quite nice, I like the colors - again with pink - I don't what about Pink but when I see that color, it often makes me feel happy

ah, I am so sorry about your trip! if you get to go I wish you a safe journey. as strange as it sounds, when a trip gets canceled I consider that there might be magic involved, the kind of magic that makes life safe and the in sync with that which is meant to be, so I trust. Sorry for all those words.

I agree with Lissa, this drawing is sweet even though it is broken. I suppose it is all those flowers and hearts. I also posted early, for I may not be around my computer tomorrow.

Hi Julia - I found your blog through Jg @ Fatscribe. I so sad for you all to have had your travel plans to wonderful, fabulous Ireland postponed. It must be due to the volcanic ash? I have family in the U.K., & I hear the airports are a mess with canceled flights. What a huge disappointment. I hope by Fall you'll be sipping on a Guinness and dancing a jig! I too am from the Pacific N.W. but moved to Houston 3 years ago. I grew up in the town of Snohomish, north of Seattle. I was compelled to write a fellow Washingtonian!
Hoping you do have a nice Sunday / :
All my best,
deb

Wow - have been thinking about people who have had to cancel trips to Europe and abroad - the art inspired however, is lovely and seems so upbeat, bittersweet.

Sorry it is taking me so long to visit you and others. I am still not feeling very well, but trying to get up and about again.

I love your heartbroken sketch. It speaks volumes to me for many of the things I have had to endure in my life. Love it!
