Loving kindness

My sweetie's mother had a stroke and is in the hospital. Today the little boys and I put together a 'feel better' basket for Grandma Ru. We baked pumpkin spice muffins and ...

Tollhouse cookies...

A trio of glossy magazines and some bright yellow daff's to cheer and entertain her.
Liam, the nearly 3 yr. old , upon seeing the completed basket quipped, "Is dat gonna make Granma Ru feel better?"
"Of course," I replied.
"Good!" This emphatically.
They are never too young to start learning the art of loving kindness.

Oh Wow Julia, what a wonderfully thoughtful, not to mention yummy gift! Everything is so artfully arranged, just looking at it all will cheer her up! Your boys sound precious and you are so right, start off those values young and they'll never forget. I hope your MIL feels better relly soon and doesn't have a too difficult rehab road ahead of her. Now watch out for those wolves on your way to Grandma's!

Thanks Susan! She really enjoyed it...Especially the mags as she has some time on her hands between physical and occupational therapy. (Grandpa enjoyed the baked goods which we kinda knew would happen anyway :-)

What a perfect gift, Julia! Pumpkin spice muffins are among my favorite treats. I'm glad to hear that your mother-in-law is on the mend, too.

Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving a comment. It brightened my day!

All best,
Gigi

Julia that's an awesome basket of goodies! But most of all it's the thought behind it that is so wonderful. Your children are so lucky to have a Mum gently guiding them down the path of kindness to others bt example. You are giving them of the greatest gifts of all.

Thanks Millie! I am always concious of the fact that these precious little ones have been entrusted to me, and I try to teach them early that they can make a difference. Love and consideration for others is a good start, I think!
