Sunday Sketches - 'Bliss'

Happy Sunday!

This is the progress on my latest piece that I have titled 'Bliss'.  I was inspired again by Gustav Klimt ~
His picture 'Mother and Child' is just so beautiful!

Started with a sketch of course :-) and had a bit of difficulty with the baby's face...

I like how the faces turned out though!

This, to me, is perfect BLISS, having my babies in my arms...Such precious moments.

I wonder how all of your summers are? Mine has been very busy and not left me much time for blogging! Been really missing Sunday Sketches so up early this morning and posting this to share. I hope you enjoy it!
Head over to Sophia's for more talented artists.

Now off to the Arts Festival which is one of the biggest events here in my little town...Love all the inspiration I always find there!

Smiles and hugs to you all!

Oh yes it's coming along so well. Really special this one.

I'm busy too - trying to make the most of summer. It's over before you blink! Got a week off work, so will be doing a few day trips and excursions.

Just so absolutely beautiful Julia. You must be a deeply happy, woman with a positive attitude to create such beauty? You've captured the love of a child perfectly. I hope the Arts Festival is a great one? My dad just emailed me this a.m. to tell me about the Art Festival in Astoria. Since my mother passed he has taken up painting again. It's given him new purpose and joy. Wishing you a fun day! x Deb

p.s.- I was away from blogging for 5 wks., summer just has a habit of doing that to us!

Oh wow - I love her! I also love Klimt's mother and child! This so takes me back to the days my kids were really young, you have caught a real feeling here! Especially in the faces, the childs angelic sleep, moms soft passion.

This is super lovely! I absolutely adore mother and baby drawings! I did one myself and had a mommy holding a baby up in a tree! It is such a tremendous blessing to be a mother. This is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
