'In the Pink' and Sunday Sketch complete

Happy Sunday Everyone! Congratulations to our lovely hostess Sophia over at Blue Chair Diary!  Celebrating One Year of Sunday Sketches!!! Participating in this lovely art co-op has meant so very much to me - I look forward to it every week, and the whole family knows Mama will be at the computer with her cuppa coffee for a good hour every Sunday enjoying her art friends and sharing in all the great stories and art presented each week.
So thank you Sophia for making it happen every week, and for being such a great cheerleader for us all!

This will have to be what I share this week for Sunday Sketches - It's the piece I showed you last week now completed.  I didn't get time to start a new one ~ just crazy busy!  You can find more wonderful Sunday Sketches over at Sophia's place.
Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday and a great week ahead!

'In the Pink'

I am hoping to have her printed in gicle on a canvas shortly and will show you how that turns out.  I absolutely love how she turned out, especially the flowers - I took lots of inspiration from some brown and pink spode bowls I have ~ I love the floral patterns on them!

So this will be the Pink gal in my series of five.  Let me know what you think of her.

It's fairly mild here in the NW and I have been outside a bit with the little boys, but it's been really difficult to get away from my drawing table as I was so into this piece.  Don't you just love it when you get lost in a piece of art and it just flows?!

Love to hear your thoughts as always!

She is Gorgeous Julia, the eyes just really stand out. I would like to know where you get your prints also I have a couple of watercolors that more than one of my kids wants and that may be the answer.

Thank you all for the wonderful encouragement! I really feel a personal style developing with my latest pieces and it's so much fun!

Marlene and Diane,
I will send you the info on where I get my prints done via email. They scan your piece and then print it on a canvas with gicle. They can gallery wrap it for you or I would assume they can roll it up and send it to you in a tube and you can have it wrapped locally.

hi there,
I love this Julia, it reminds me of a beautiful wallpaper piece. I just love the detailed patterns that you have created with the floral and nature theme here. It's really well done. I love her big blue eyes, they are so stunning.

When I first opened this up I had a thought... these would all be beautiful in a coloring book of sorts, especially for young artists. If you sold the coloring books of just the pen and inks - i just think they have amazing detail, and kids of all ages would love to add their own color, etc. You really have something with these, I believe! I can't wait to see the rest of the series....

i would also love to know where you get your prints made, I have a few of my watercolor illustrations that i would love to do as a gicle.
ok, this is too long a comment already, he he he!
and i too love getting lost in my art...oh i could spend hours just sitting and drawing!
LOVE this. xxoo

thnx for checking out my sketch..really there's no story behind that sketch, i just felt like drawing innocence and selflessness, so that is what came to my mind :)

Thanks everyone for the wonderfully encouraging comments! It means so much to me to be able to share my little creations with all of you! M7 I use prismacolor and other brands of colored pencils, faber castell indian ink pens and prismacolor ink pens, in black and different colors. I really wish I could paint, but so far that is just really frustrating for me. I think I need to take a few art classes...I can't get the details I want with paint.
I have never taken an art class so maybe it's time...

She is awesome! Thanks for the info on the prints. It has been fun for me to get to know you this past year also and yes it would be fun to meet up. I am at the beach in Washington right now, on the Long Beach Penisula. Not all that far away.

Hi Julia,

I think she's beautiful, love the detail.. I agree, nothing quite like getting lost in a piece of artwork...I sometimes even get up in the middle of the night or really early to finish something off or get started on an idea...love it...
