Sunday Sketches

'I walked into the forest and found a bower of flowers...
I twined them in my hair and let their spicy fragrance wash over me...
NATURE, you are my constant companion, YOU soothe me always...
A lifetime spent in YOUR company will teach me more than an eternity
without ever having known you...
Oh, carry me on your knarled boughs, escort me through your waving grasses, lay me down with a bed of blue 'forget-me-nots' beneath me.'

You know I popped by here earlier and meant to leave a comment, but as I don't either see it or remember it, I guess I didn't! I'm amazed you managed to find the creativity with all those stressful things going on your life. Beautiful girl she is too :)

Hello Julia dear, I hope things are cooling down for you.... I have missed your last post and reading it just now really made my heart goes to you. Yes, life is a tangled yarn sometimes, and it takes a whole lot of effort to smooth it out inch by inch. But with the strength and patience you seem to have, I'm sure you'll be just fine. :)

Oh, and the sketch? Lovely as always... and the words is pure bliss. Wonderful work, Julia! ~hugs~

Hi Julia I'm back and had a great time in the mountains. I love your drawing, all the detail and that tree is awesome. You asked if I created the backgrounds on mine and yes I did. The one for the night dancers was done by putting paint on the edge of a sponge in layers and then dragging it across the paper, the tropical punch was done by coloring the page with wet watercolor and placing scrunched up saran wrap on it and then waiting for it to dry before removing the wrap, and the fish was saran wrap also only just slightly smooshed up.
