Had to smile at Jg's comment on my latest gal:
He says "okay, seven brides for seven brothers commission. serious ... I would LOVE to see how you pull off men to match-up with these lovelies."
Sooooo...got out my graphite and worked up this rough sketch - He looks a little more preppy than I intended, (not my type at all!) And I see a little disdain there, which would never go over with this gal!
Of course I could not resist adding some green to the eyes - but I have to say he was really challenging to work on! Didn't get to do any embellishing and you know how I love to add my textures and details. Probably a lot I could add to make him pop,
but I confess I am not super motivated to continue working on him.
Sigh....
Sorry Jg, I just love my ladies!
Smiles
Julia

His eyes are beautiful, though I'm not so sure about his expression! I can see why you might not want to add to the picture!
Thank you, dear girl, for dropping by my blog today. I am well--though the record-breaking rain here in Oregon, even for a native Oregonian like me, is rather difficult. I'm discovering a love for sunshine these days!
It is great to hear from you, my Friend. ((hugs))
PS I adore your drawing Synergy. WOW!
haha this is FAB, Julia!! :) VERY nice work. Love it. :) Hugs
awesome. really cracking up over (or should i say down here?) in L.A. I can see you now with graphite out and making a man come to life from a challenge thrown down on the Internet. even if you're not happy with him, the prompt response is beyond impressive. well done you!
Wow! He is wonderful - I LOVE the green eyes - and love it with the graphite alone too - I would really find it difficult to work on men - hats off to you! And thank you for your sweet comment ;) xoox
Ok, LOVE the eyes and the front hair flip! cool to see you draw a man! I like it. have a great friday! xo
Wow! You can draw them. This reminds me those portraits in the Wall Street Journal. This is very good.
so fun that you gave doing a man a try. Love all the details in his hair. A wonderful piece.
You did a fabulous job of handsome on the outside and ugly on the inside in this guy! Amazing!
Good for you trying to do a man! I still prefer ladies! Valerie
I like the touch of green in his eyes. Now what would he think if you filled the background with flowers? ;-)
He looks good. You know how you never really know someone until your get to know him? Well, maybe when you get to know him his preppiness will diminish and he will shine for your gal. :-)
Hi Julia, I like him although he does have a bit of an air about him, maybe just self confidence. Love his eyes. I find men hard to do. tomorrow for Sunday sketches I am sharing the beginning of one I am doing for my granddaughter of Eminem, the rapper. Daisy is doing great and it is just pouring rain here. ugh!
oh fun!! a man!! go girl!!
Great job. My son always asks me why I only draw girls. I haven't come up with an answer besides "Girls are more fun to draw!" LOL! It's true though no?
Hugs and blessings
Kelly
